Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Traffic Noise Analyst 2, we'll count on you to:

  • Work on traffic noise analyses, assist with measurements, preparing traffic data for use in noise models, running traffic noise models, evaluating results, performing mitigation analyses, and preparing reports.
  • Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables.
  • Work independently on tasks, follow guidance and direction from more senior team members, and develop subject matter expertise. 
  • Perform other related duties as necessary.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in acoustics, physics, engineering, environmental science or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience in noise analysis.
  • At least 5+ years related experience in traffic noise analyses or environmental acoustics.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Excel.
  • Proficiency with GIS and FHWA TNM 2.5.
  • Proficiency with state-of-the-art tools used to measure acoustical values, noise, and vibration and software used to process and analyze that measurement data.
  • Must be familiar with relevant ISO, ANSI, ASTM and related acoustical standards.
  • Familiar with current guidance documents for traffic noise analyses (i.e. FHWA and DOT policies and guidance, etc.).
  • Requires occasional travel.
  • Leadership skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work independently and in a team are required. Must excel at being a member of a team.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiar with Larson Davis and NI instrumentation.

Location is flexible depending upon level of experience. Preferred locations include: Minneapolis, Chicago, Denver, Vienna, VA, and Dallas.
