Entry Level Noise Engineer: Dearborn, MI

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement noise exposure monitoring strategies
  • Conduct noise assessments in industrial workplaces
  • Conduct environmental noise assessments
  • Advise clients in developing, implementing and evaluating Hearing Conservation and Noise Control programs
  • Enter/manipulate/analyze data in database applications
  • Prepare reports for clients
  • Preparation of facility layouts and site plans
  • Provide technical support to senior staff
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Business travel expected 50 % throughout North America


  • Post-secondary degree in Science, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health Safety, or EHS
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook software
  • Demonstrated competence in technical report writing
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Focused on details and accuracy, be able to recognize errors and discrepancies
  • Ability to meet deadlines, willingness to put in effort required to get work done on schedule and within budget
  • Self-reliant but also able to work well within a team environment
  • Ability to solve simple technical problems that could arise in the course of a project
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in an environment that provides quality, solution-oriented consulting services
  • Familiarity/proficiency with CADNA/A, SoundPlan, CAD/Graphics packages a plus


  • 0-3 years experience
  • Experience in the following areas would be an asset:
    • Experience with Industrial Noise Control, Environmental Noise, Indoor Acoustics
    • Conducting industrial hygiene/environmental/occupational safety assessments
    • Work experience in consulting/engineering/technical firm
    • Environmental noise
    • An understanding of federal, state and municipal laws and regulations pertaining to noise
    • An understanding of health, safety and environment compliance and reporting
    • Working in industrial settings (manufacturing, energy, resources etc.)
