INCE is saddened to note the recent passing of our colleague, INCE Fellow, and Past President William J. "Bill" Cavanaugh. Link through to a page with information on tributes to the life and career of this outstanding contributor to the world of acoustics and noise control.

Both student and professional Noise Control Engineering awards will be available at the upcoming NOISE-CON 2019. Student awards include: Martin Hirschorn IAC Prize — Graduate Student Project Award, Student Paper Competition, "Classic Papers in Noise Control Engineering" Competition, and INCE-USA Travel Awards. Professional awards being offered this year include the George C. Maling Award for Excellence in Noise Control Engineering and the INCE-USA Outstanding Noise Control Educator Award. The next INCE Board Certification Professional Examination will be held on 25 August 2019, in conjuction with NOISE-CON 2019. The deadline for submitting applications is 1 May 2019. A revised and updated Study Guide is now available. As of 2019, although Membership in INCE is recommended, it is no longer required in order to obtain Board Certification in Noise Control Engineering.
