At the Winter 2018 meeting of the INCE-USA Board of Directors, exciting and well-deserved changes were made to two of the Institute's most significant awards. The Distinguished Noise Control Engineer and Excellence in Noise Control Engineering Awards were renamed to honor William W. Lang and George C. Maling.
At its meeting in January, the Board of Directors of INCE-USA elected Deane Jaeger and Karl Washburn as the newest Fellows of the Institute. INCE proudly recognizes the service and accomplishments of all of its Fellows.
This year (2018), the Noise Control Engineering Journal (NCEJ) is excited to announce a special issue consisting entirely of case studies in noise control. This issue will be devoted to case studies rather than technical papers.
At the 2018 General Meeting of INCE-USA, held in Chicago on January 28, the membership approved three new elected Directors, three new Directors-at-Large, and a new slate of Officers.

INCE-USA is a Member Society of the International Commission for Acoustics (ICA). The purpose of the ICA is to promote international development and collaboration in all fields of acoustics including research, development, education, and standardisation.
