The Senior Acoustics Regulatory Affairs Specialist builds 3M regulatory affairs leadership in hearing conservation around the globe.
The position of Senior Acoustics Regulatory Affairs Specialist located in Indianapolis, IN will be responsible for, but not limited to the following specific duties (1) lead 3M standard development activities globally for key hearing protection and hearing conservation issues; (2) actively participate in US and ISO hearing protection and hearing conservation standard development; (3) evaluate new hearing protection measurement methods, equipment, and performance characteristics of current and new 3M products as well as competitive products/systems; (4) carry out applied research studies on attributes of hearing protection devices (i.e. comfort, fit validation, etc); (5) write articles on hearing conservation applied research and related topics, and (6) support product development for passive and active hearing protection devices.
The Senior Acoustics Regulatory Affairs Specialist will work with Elliott Berger, Division Scientist to build 3M regulatory affairs leadership in hearing conservation around the globe.
Other: Travel required (10-25% on average).
Responsibilities of this position may include direct and/or indirect physical or logical access to information, systems, technologies subjected to the regulations/compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws.

Basic/Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's level or higher, Science, Engineering or other Technical discipline degree
- 3+ years of combined experience as a Acoustical Engineer, Audiologist, Industrial Hygienist and/or Health Scientist.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in Acoustical Engineer, Audiologist, Industrial Hygienist or Health Scientist from an accredited university
- 7+ years of professional experience working as an Acoustical Engineer, Audiologist, Industrial Hygienist and/or Health Scientist Researcher
- Currently be INCE Board Certified, a Certified IH, practicing Audiologist and/or involved in university research
- Authored or Co-Authored peer-review journal Articles.
