Noise-Con 2008 and the Sound Quality Symposium 2008
held in conjunction with the
30th Annual Conference of ASME’s Noise Control and Acoustics Division (NCAD)
28-31 July 2008, Dearborn, Michigan, USA
The Institute of Noise Control Engineering/USA (INCE) has announced that Dearborn, Michigan, will be the site for Noise-Con 2008 and SQS-2008. The meetings will be held 28-31 July at the Hyatt Regency Dearborn. Teik C. Lim and Jay H. Kim, both of the University of Cincinnati, are serving as the general chair and technical chair, respectively, of Noise-Con 2008.
Noise-Con 2008 and ASME NCAD Conference Programs
To facilitate interaction among a wide spectrum of noise control professionals, the 30th annual conference of ASME’s Noise Control and Acoustics Division (NCAD) will be held in conjunction with Noise-Con 2008. Steve Hambric, Pennsylvania State University, is the ASME NCAD conference organizer. The ASME NCAD conference is expected to contribute 40-60 papers to the joint event; Noise-Con alone usually draws 150-200 papers. The sessions will be organized to align with technical and application themes and many of the sessions will contain both ASME NCAD and Noise-Con 2008 papers. One of the Noise-Con 2008’s three plenary lectures will be hosted by the ASME’s Noise Control and Acoustics Division and will be part of its annual Rayleigh Lecture series.
Sound Quality Symposium 2008 News and Information
INCE is pleased to announce that the Hyatt Regency is also the site of the 2008 Sound Quality Symposium to be held July 31, 2007 after Noise-Con 2008 (28-30 July, 2008) which is being held in conjunction with the ASME NCAD.
This is the third in a series of highly successful symposia that have been held in the Detroit area (SQS98 and SQS2002). We are interested in receiving papers on all aspects of sound quality and associated areas such as vibration quality and multimodal responses. Both fundamental and applied presentations are welcome. Papers containing sound quality case studies are also welcome.
SQS 2008 Key Dates:
- Abstracts due February 4th, 2008 extended to Monday, February 25th, 2008 (200 words)
- Papers due April 28th, 2008 (4-8 pages, 10 pages absolute maximum)
Abstract and Paper Submissions Deadlines
Abstract and paper deadlines will vary due to the peer review process for the ASME NCAD papers. See the website for formatting and submission details for the various conferences. ASME papers will be submitted and reviewed via the ASME’s conference website (for which you’ll find links to from the Noise-Con 2008 technical sessions Web pages).
