Technical Activity 10.0: Prediction and Modeling Techniques

10.1 Numerical Methods in Structural Acoustics - Go back

Organizers: Bryce Gardner, Phil Shorter

This session is concerned with applications of numerical methods for low-frequency vibro-acoustic analysis and design. The following technical areas are of particular interest: (i) the use of Finite Elements, Boundary Elements and Infinite Elements in aerospace, automotive, marine, consumer appliance and architectural applications, (ii) shock and random vibration analysis, aero-acoustics and aero-vibro-acoustics, acoustic transmission, acoustic radiation, poro-elastic noise control treatments and damping materials and (iii) the development of new modeling methods for low frequency vibro-acoustics.

10.2 Statistical Energy Analysis and Energy Methods - Go back

Organizers: Vince Cotoni, Phil Shorter

This session is concerned with applications of Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA) and energy based methods in mid and high frequency vibro-acoustic analysis and design. The following technical areas are of particular interest: (i) the use of SEA and energy based methods in aerospace, automotive, marine, consumer appliance and architectural applications, (ii) the use of SEA and energy based methods in product design and optimization, aero-acoustics, aero-vibro-acoustics, acoustic radiation and transmission, vehicle interior noise control, acoustic materials and sound package design, (iii) the development of modeling guidelines and modeling processes, and (iv) the development and application of new methods for mid and high-frequency vibro-acoustics.
