Senior Level Acoustical Engineer

Daly-Standlee and Associates Inc., (DSA) is recruiting a senior level acoustical engineer to join our consulting team in the Portland, Oregon metro area.  The firm has been a growing force in the acoustical consulting industry over the past 20 years, providing services in environmental noise assessment, industrial noise and vibration, HVAC noise control, sound isolation and architectural acoustics design.  DSA’s client base is centered in the Pacific Northwest and spreads across the nation.

This position will require project management and development in all areas of our consulting practice.  Job responsibilities include the following:

  • Managing and coordinating engineering staff in developing recommendations
  • Working with clients and staff to define the scope of work for new projects
  • Overseeing engineering hardware and software used by the firm, including both noise and vibration measurement and analysis systems
  • Conducting and coordinating field measurements, data analysis, and evaluation
  • Communicating recommendations to clients in a clear and concise manner through conversation, written reports, and presentations

DSA is seeking an individual who has the skill to independently assess a client’s needs and develop a solution tailored to their project and budget. A thorough understanding of many acoustical applications will be required. While the majority of our projects focus in environmental and architectural applications, the position will occasionally require work in transportation vibration, industrial equipment vibration, audio/visual systems, and measurement system design.

Desired Education and Experience:

  • 10+ years experience in Acoustical Consulting or related field
  • B.S. or M.S. (preferred) in Acoustical, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or Physics
  • Excellent understanding of environmental, industrial, and architectural acoustics consulting practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage time and resources effectively

Please forward a letter of inquiry and resume to dsa@acoustechgroup.com or the following address:
