Summer Internship: Acoustics Engineering

Blachford Inc., a leading manufacturer and supplier of noise control materials is seeking a summer engineering intern to join our acoustics or materials engineering staff. Our acoustics engineering staff specializes in determining how to reduce sound levels in large vehicles, such as heavy trucks, buses, tractors, and motor homes. They use state of the art instrumentation and test facilities to determine the contributions from each of the many sound sources and paths in a product, and to develop the best solution for meeting the customer’s sound goals. Our materials engineering staff works with suppliers, our manufacturing facilities, acoustics engineering, and our formulating group to develop new products and to characterize the properties of current and potential components. Working intimately with the various groups of the organization, materials engineering is a key component to the success of new product implementations, product changes and modifications, and the successful processing of components.

Applicants should have a strong interest in acoustics, be pursuing a degree in engineering or other related field, and be able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills. Along with assisting with day to day activities they will be assigned a project and will be expected to make a formal presentation at the end of the summer to the technical staff and management.

This is a paid position; however, applicants will be responsible for arranging their own housing arrangements for the summer. Apply by emailing a cover letter and resume to:
