Noise Control Engineer

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Entry level engineer interested in developing as a Noise and Vibration specialist. Candidate will develop project noise models for process units, using KBR's proprietary Plant Noise Modeling System. Other duties include the development of noise data sheets, evaluation of acoustic insulation requirements, noise surveys, Acoustically Induced Vibration (AIV) and Flow Induced Vibration (FIV) screening.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering with course work in Acoustics
  • Advanced degree(s) in Acoustics/Noise Control Engineering and certification by a professional institution (INCE, ASA) desirable
  • 3-5 years experience in noise and vibration control with experience in major hydrocarbon or gas processing projects
  • Experience with international noise/vibration standards and codes together with an understanding of plant noise modeling techniques and standards
  • Vibration analysis experience for flow induced vibration in piping systems together with vibration analysis for rotating equipment
